The 10,000th Intego – Manufactured in Germany, delivered to the U.S.
In 2014 Dentsply Sirona presented a new model within its range of new generation Treatment Centers - Intego. This high quality and remarkably flexible treatment center reached a special milestone in June 2017: The 10,000th unit left the Dentsply Sirona manufacturing site in Bensheim, Germany. It was shipped to Kamand Shaibani, a dentist from Burlington, Massachusetts.
Bensheim/Salzburg. “This new product line is able to be configured very flexibly to suit the needs of various practitioners and is therefore a huge benefit for group practices. Dentists should not have to forego outstanding quality, innovative features and modern design based on how much they can afford to invest in a new center", said Michael Geil, Group Vice President Dentsply Sirona Treatment Centers. He continued by explaining, “That’s why this sophisticated Treatment center fascinates dentists all over the world. The demand is very high.” Thousands of units have been sent to southern and eastern Europa, Asia Pacific and Middle East. In June 2017, just three years after the launch, the 10,000th Intego left the manufacturing site in Bensheim.
The 10,000th unit was shipped to Kamand Shaibani in Massachusetts, U.S. who ordered the Intego Pro Ambidextrous model: “We have been very excited to get an Intego so you can imagine our surprise to be the 10,000th purchaser. What a treat. The use of Intego is a relief for me and my colleagues,” explained Dr. Shaibani. “It has several important features.”
Intego features provide flexibility
The Intego models offer modern dental practices everything necessary for professional dental hygiene, dental aesthetics and dental care. It is additionally configurable with special packages and practical equipment options. For example, with a self-contained fresh water supply bottle which controls water quality. “The self-cleaning mechanism of the Intego is a life saver. It enables optimal preventive care also, to have the endodontic capability of the handpiece along with the scaler and electric attachment is a must have,” noted Dr. Shaibani. The Cavitron built-in ultrasonic scaling system is available with the Intego line of Treatment Centers for fast and effective removal of even the most tenacious deposits. “The individually configurable equipment enables us to very flexible. The fact that the Intego is a swivel treatment center is a bonus. My associate and I are both right handed but the ability to switch the chair is a whole new selling point for our practice when we search for the next associate.”
Elegant Sweep for ergonomic work
Swiveling from a left-handed to right-handed treatment center is extremely straightforward and intuitive: A switch on the water unit can be released by foot and then is moved around the chair. At the same time, the backrest moves automatically to the new position. As a final step, the operation light, the dentist element, and the monitor get repositioned. This process takes about 15 seconds. “Often, practices switch between the treatment of two patients,” noted Michael Geil. “No screws need to be released or replaced. This easy and smooth process enables one to work in an ergonomic manner. That means keeping a comfortable and healthy back and hand position during treatments which is not possible when you are left-handed and have to work on equipment designed to only meet the demands of right-handers.”
Functionality, safety and style
“The Intego treatment center is state of the art – developed and manufactured in Bensheim in Germany,” explained Michael Geil. “We are proud of its great success and that our treatment center helps dentist all over the world like Dr. Kamand Shaibani in the U.S. to work safer, better, and faster.” In addition to complete functionality, comfort, and safety the treatment center is stylish. It meets the high standards of the Dentsply Sirona infection control concept that there are no hand movements needed in a kneeling or squatting position. Also, the precise Swivel movement minimizes the risk of damage to hoses or collision with other components. “The Intego treatment centers are new to the U.S. market but they represent the ergonomics and functionality I would like to see for the future,” concluded Dr. Shaibani.
