Worldwide Aid For Children With Cleft Lip And Palate

Amann Girrbach supports the Deutsche Cleft Kinderhilfe, a German aid organisation that helps treat children with cleft lip and palate.

The Deutsche Cleft Kinderhilfe e.V. is committed to the worldwide treatment of children with cleft lips, jaws and palates. Most of them are very poor and are often socially isolated, brought about by their disfigurement. The surgery that can give the affected children an opportunity to lead a “normal” life costs around €250. In addition, children with a cleft, in most cases, suffer from serious health impairments as a result of difficulty in eating and drinking, such as hearing deficiencies and language development impairment. In addition to financing operations and providing comprehensive cleft therapy, the organisation promotes the establishment of interdisciplinary teams of physicians and therapists consisting of surgeons, paediatricians, dentists, orthodontists, speech therapists, psychologists and social workers.

Amann Girrbach believes in the vital importance of corporate social and economic responsibility and is pleased with the great success of its first fundraising campaign, organised specifically for the benefit of the Deutsche Cleft Kinderhilfe at the international AG dealer meeting held in October. For this purpose, the AG CHARITY GAMES were organised wherein points could be accumulated during various skill exercises, and later on converted into euros by Amman Girrbach.  Thanks to the enthusiastic participation of all dealer representatives present as well as AG employees from around 60 countries, a total of €11,224.50 was donated.

Mr. Kai Kietz, Head of International Sales at Amann Girrbach, presents the donation to Ms. Ulrike Claassens, Donor and Project Administration
at Deutsche Cleft Kinderhilfe e.V.
