Dentsply Sirona has celebrated the winners of the “Most Engaging Community Campaign” World Oral Health Day (WOHD) Award. Since 2022, the company has partnered with the FDI World Dental Federation (FDI) to support WOHD, driven by a shared commitment to empowering people with the knowledge, tools, and confidence for good oral health. This partnership aligns with Dentsply Sirona’s goal of empowering and enabling 25 million healthy smiles by 2025, as part of its sustainability strategy, BEYOND: Taking Action for a Brighter World.

Dentsply Sirona has celebrated the success of its campaign for WOHD 2024. Under the motto, A Happy Mouth is A Happy Body, the campaign reached out and engaged the oral health community through a variety of multi-platform initiatives. Andrea Frohning, SVP, chief human resources officer at Dentsply Sirona, shared her reflections on the success of the 2024 campaign through a video message, which was presented at the WOHD 2024 ceremony in Istanbul, Turkey.
Celebrating the 2024 WOHD Award winners
Dentsply Sirona congratulated The Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences (MAIDS) for winning the Most Engaging Community Campaign award for 2024. In line with the aforementioned campaign motto, MAIDS conducted a series of activities aimed at promoting oral health awareness and practices. These initiatives were carried out across patient care, institutional education, and community engagement levels, utilising comprehensive training programmes and resources to make a positive impact on oral health within their community.
Frohning expressed her appreciation for the creative efforts demonstrated by this year’s award winners: “We are incredibly proud to support initiatives that promote oral health education and awareness globally. The Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences has shown exceptional dedication to improving community health through education and engagement, and we congratulate them on their well-deserved recognition.”
Expanding campaign initiatives in 2024
In addition to recognizing outstanding community efforts, Dentsply Sirona’s 2024 campaign expanded its initiatives beyond internal company-wide and external multi-channel communications. The company promoted its Patient Education Toolkit designed to empower dentists to build their patients’ knowledge of the connection between oral health and overall health and well-being. Available for use in both practice settings and digital channels, the toolkit motivates proactive dental care and encourages regular check-ups, further supporting Dentsply Sirona’s mission to improve global oral health.
Greg Chadwick, FDI president, highlighted the importance of collaboration: “The partnership between FDI and Dentsply Sirona has been very instrumental in advancing our shared goal of raising global awareness about the importance of oral health. Together, we are committed to promoting a healthier future, where everyone understands that good oral health is essential to overall well-being.”
