Dentsply Sirona Imaging has won the world famous A’Design Award 2017 in the Interface and Interaction Design category for the Sidexis 4 X-ray software. Characterized by quality and perfection in terms of functionality and design, both the concept of the software and the implementation of the product idea were recognized.
Bensheim/Salzburg. “Our goal is to make everyday life easier for dental practitioners so that they are able to concentrate on their patients and provide the best treatment results. With the Sidexis 4 software, we have created a solution that has now become a role model in the industry,” said Jörg Haist, Head of Product Management at Dentsply Sirona Imaging. “From the first idea for a product or for a new function until the last line of code, we work together with practitioners in order to develop the best possible product.” Dentsply Sirona has been commended for exactly this with the A’Design Award in the Interface and Interaction Design category. The company impressed the 179-member jury of the internationally recognized A’Design Awards with their Sidexis 4 product.
Sidexis 4 is the first software to allow various image types to be displayed simultaneously, for example, panoramic images, intraoral images and 3D X-ray data.
The user interface of the Sidexis 4 software is easy to operate and has been optimally adapted to actual work processes in dental practices, resulting in a smooth and efficient workflow. With its optimal visualization, it provides support when taking X-ray images, analyzing image data, making diagnoses, and providing explanations to the patient. Moreover, patient data, images, and relevant billing information can be transferred easily and, for example, transmitted fully automatically to practice management software. The “Timeline” function organizes all image data that has been assigned to a patient into a clear preview mode according to the date the image was taken. A quick overview of the patient’s history and the ability to call up data ensure smooth interaction in everyday practice life. Furthermore, the Compare function enables two 3D X-ray images or up to four 2D images to be analyzed and compared simultaneously.
Smooth and efficient work as a priority
“The dentist’s viewpoint was very important in the development of the program,” explained Jörg Haist, “And the numerous awards for Sidexis 4 show that we have managed to perform the balancing act of developing a product that combines innovation and suitability for everyday use – Sidexis 4 can be integrated into the dental practice to an unprecedented degree and provides a genuine benefit.”
