Bristle Health and Dentistry. One partner to expand access to personalised preventive oral healthcare

Bristle Health and Dentistry. One have announced a strategic partnership to combine Bristle’s salivary oral microbiome testing platform with Dentistry. One’s virtual oral health coaching, teledentistry consultations and nationwide dental care network.

Oral bacteria have been linked to more than 50 systemic diseases, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease and cancer. Bristle’s saliva test analyses more than 800 species of oral bacteria and fungi, identifying microbial causes of conditions such as dental caries, gingival inflammation and halitosis, often before symptoms become apparent. Based on the results, users receive a personalised action plan designed to help restore the balance of the oral microbiome and improve both oral and overall health.

Through the partnership, Bristle users will have access to Dentistry. One oral health coaches trained to interpret saliva test results and develop personalised care plans based on microbiome findings. These plans include tailored recommendations on home care, lifestyle changes and oral health products. Coaches also answer users’ questions about their results and provide guidance on improving long-term oral health.

Where test results indicate the need for clinical assessment, users can consult a Dentistry. One dentist virtually to review their findings and determine the appropriate next steps. Patients requiring in-person treatment will be connected with a local dental provider through Dentistry. One’s care coordination team.

The collaboration also lays the groundwork for wider integration of salivary testing into virtual oral health programmes. As the partnership develops, Dentistry. One plans to expand access to Bristle’s testing across consumer, employer, health plan and population health programmes, extending microbiome-based oral health insights to a broader audience.

“Bristle gives patients a real clinical picture of what is happening in their mouth, down to the specific bacteria driving their problems. That level of precision changes what is possible in preventive care,” said Brant Herman, founder and chief executive officer of Dentistry. One and MouthWatch. “Dentistry. One coaches take that precision and turn it into action, helping patients understand what their results mean and build habits that support better oral and overall health.”

Shivam Patel, co-founder of Bristle Health, added: “We built Bristle to help people understand what is causing their oral health issues and what they can do to improve. Partnering with Dentistry. One allows us to extend the value we provide by connecting people with personalised guidance, care navigation and additional support when they need it.”

From 1 Jul, Bristle users will be able to access Dentistry. One’s oral health coaching service directly through the Bristle platform. After completing their saliva test and receiving their results, users can connect with an oral health coach for personalised guidance based on their individual oral microbiome profile.
