The GDPR poses challenges for those in the healthcare sector. Pursuant to Article 9 of the GDPR, health information belongs to the “special categories of personal data.” With this in mind, Dentsply Sirona offers customers using the Sidexis 4 central imaging software practical support regarding the protection and safety of data processed within Sidexis 4.

Sidexis 4—GDPR-compliant handling of image data
One of the essential GDPR requirements is compiling a list of processing activities. The data processing procedures within an organisation and its IT systems must therefore be described—including encryption methods and all data storage steps. The client-server infrastructure of Sidexis 4 provides a high level of data safety and protection, for example, the encrypted flow of data between the Sidexis server and clients.
