Waltham, Mass., USA – DENTSPLY Implants continues the global launch of connectivity offerings by introducing intraoral scanning for ATLANTIS abutments with 3Shape TRIOS. This new collaboration streamlines the workflow process by making it easier for all members of the treatment team to connect.
The process of using intraoral scanning ensures efficient coordination between the dental clinic and dental laboratory. Now, DENTSPLY Implants moves forward to strengthen the intraoral scanning service for ATLANTIS abutments by collaborating with 3Shape, a company specialising in the development and marketing of 3D scanners and CAD/CAM software solutions.
Combining the 3Shape TRIOS intraoral scanner with ATLANTIS abutments creates a streamlined and efficient workflow for the entire treatment team. In short, the process starts when the clinician takes a digital colour impression using the TRIOS scanner, analyses the scans and transmits to the dental technician. The dental technician reviews the scans, creates model data and submits the order in ATLANTIS WebOrder. DENTSPLY Implants designs, manufactures and delivers the ATLANTIS abutments, the dental technician finalises the restoration and ships it to the clinician, who installs the final restoration in the patient’s mouth.
The solution supports ATLANTIS abutments for cement- and screw-retained restorations, as well as the ATLANTIS Conus Abutments custom for friction fit, removable restorations.
“We constantly strive to make improvements for our customers, and as a market leader within implants and digital solutions, it is key for us to be able to provide solutions to our customers’ preferred implant systems. Part of our offering is to provide open connectivity and interactivity that makes it easier for dental professionals in the treatment team to connect and streamline the restorative workflow for their preferred implant systems,” says Mikael Sander, Vice President Global Platform Digital Solutions at DENTSPLY Implants.
“We are glad to add the renowned and widely used ATLANTIS abutments to the systems now available in connection with the TRIOS digital colour impression solution,” says Flemming Thorup, CEO at 3Shape. “Providing easy access to leading implant systems, such as those from DENTSPLY Implants, is helping to make TRIOS the most attractive intraoral scanning solution for dental practices.”
For dental professionals, the collaboration between DENTSPLY Implants and 3Shape creates conditions for a better workflow and communication within the treatment team, as well as quality improvement and enhanced patient comfort.
“We have always loved the accuracy and efficiency of ATLANTIS abutments, but the intraoral scans take this to a whole new level of excellence – beautiful detailed colour scans that we can upload straight into ATLANTIS software and be working on our designs within hours of the patient being in the chair. TRIOS and ATLANTIS offer the ultimate in quality, accuracy and efficiency for both the dental laboratory and the clinic,” says Dr. Tim Doswell.
