Dentsply Sirona, global manufacturer of professional dental products and technologies, announced that Daisy Zhang has been appointed as general manager in China. The appointment underlines its commitment to a diverse leadership team, as Zhang is the first female Chinese-born leader to be in this role.

“With more than 10 years of experience in the dental market, a track record in leading diverse teams and managing businesses spanning from business operations to HR and commercial, Zhang is in a position to take on the role in one of the biggest markets in the APAC region,” said Bruce Peatey, group vice-president, APAC. “[As] the first female leader in this market [she] paves the way for diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. Her professionalism and leadership empower the team to operate with performance and further drive the growth of the company in this market.”
Zhang has been with Dentsply Sirona since 2009. Most recently, she served as general manager for the Taiwan market, following her time as HR director for APAC in Hong Kong. She led the integration of teams spanning 10 countries while building an APAC leadership team during the Dentsply and Sirona organisational merger. Her experiences range across the business spectrum, including leadership roles in business development, operations and HR. Prior to her role as APAC HR director, she led the Asia business operations out of Singapore. Currently, Zhang is based out of Shanghai, China.
Zhang said, “I am honoured to be the first female Chinese-born leader for our markets in APAC. I have been with the company for over a decade.”
Dentsply Sirona has invested in China over the last years. In 2022, strategic partnerships with Alibaba Cloud, LinkCare and GaoFeng, China’s technology companies and manufacturers, were announced to introduce Dentsply Sirona Core, Primescan and personalised implantology and resto solutions to the market. A R&D centre was set up in Suzhou, China to foster digital transformation of the dental industry in China. Recently, Dentsply Sirona participated in the volume-based procurement (VBP) initiative and introduced T4 and T5 implantology offering to the programme.
