Dentsply Sirona started off 2022 with delivering its 75,000th Heliodent Plus. The intraoral x-ray unit supports daily diagnostic work in dental practices, while its reliability and image quality are of high standards.
The production of the 75,000th Heliodent Plus reaffirms Dentsply Sirona’s promise to support dentists with innovative solutions to give their patients a healthy smile. Compact intraoral X-ray units are essential for dental practices. Before Heliodent Plus was launched in 2009, there was the Heliodent, which was manufactured almost 200,000 times between 1978 and 2008 in Bensheim, Germany, where the current Heliodent Plus is also manufactured.
The basic technical principle of directing the x-ray beam precisely onto the examination field via a cone-shaped emitter has not changed since then. However, many other components of the current Heliodent Plus have been continuously developed so that this solution from Dentsply Sirona is now a modern, efficient and reliable intraoral x-ray unit.
Users, including dental assistants, expressed how easy Heliodent Plus is to operate and delivers the expected results, as Manuela Schröder, a dental assistant at Dr Gerd Frahsek’s practice in Velbert, said: “It is very helpful not to have to worry about how the device works in everyday life. We really enjoy working with the Heliodent Plus in the practice, and have for many years. It is reliable and robust.”
Niels Plate, group vice-president equipment and instruments at Dentsply Sirona, concluded: “Hardly any x-ray unit has incorporated as much experience and technical know-how as the Heliodent Plus. In its continued development, we have consistently set new standards in imaging quality while addressing the needs of our customers. The fact that so many dentists worldwide appreciate this and trust the product makes us proud.”
