
Dental Asia has announced the appointment of Dr Alan Kwong Hing to Dental Asia’s dental advisory board. In his role as member of the dental advisory board, Dr Alan will utilise his critical expertise and knowledge of the dental industry to support the magazine, which serves as Asia-Pacific’s leading source of educational and multidisciplinary content for the dental industry.
“I am thrilled to be joining the editorial team for Dental Asia magazine, a leading edge publication that provides a venue for showcasing new and innovative information and technology to dental professionals,” he remarked.
Dr Alan is the founder of PBM healing, which utilises photobiomodulation to stimulate ATP production at the cellular level, promoting reduced pain and accelerated recovery to dental patients. He is also a Diplomate of the ICOI, and a Fellow in the International College of Dentists. For many years, he was a KOL for Nobelcare, working with teams to develop the NobelBiocare Replace Implant. In 2014, he co-authored The E-Myth Dentist with renowned business writer, Michael E Gerber.
A serial entrepreneur with a rich career as a solo dentist, Dr Alan has had large multi-dental office groups in Canada, the UK and the US under his belt. He has owned dental and specialised orthodontic laboratories, a dental model company, dental supply company as well a company that manufactured orthodontic wires and accessories. He also ran a dental mini residency to train dentists and their teams in dental implant surgery and restorative procedures.
Dr Alan graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Doctor of dental surgery (with distinction), and a concurrent master’s degree in pathology. A recipient of the University Gold Medal, he is also the holder of multiple other degrees and awards, including the pre–Doctoral IADR Hatton award for his research on MRIs and bone healing. He delivers lectures all around the world, most notably in the area of PBM and its uses in the medical and dental devices he developed for patients.
