Glidewell, reportedly the largest full-service dental laboratory in North America and a leading provider of dental products and services for more than 50 years, has entered into an agreement to distribute Carestream Dental’s cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) imaging systems in the US and Canada.
CBCT imaging systems from Carestream Dental provide high resolution 3D images of a patient’s teeth, jaw, and surrounding structures. This allows dental professionals to more accurately diagnose and treat a range of dental conditions, including complex implant cases.
Glidewell CEO Stephenie Goddard said, “Carestream Dental’s CBCT systems complement our growing ecosystem of clinical CAD/CAM dental solutions, and help us [make] patient treatment faster, more predictable, and more affordable.”
Carestream Dental’s easy-to-use 3D imaging systems provide CBCT, panoramic, and cephalometric functions in a compact form factor. Premium options with expanded features and enlarged field of view provide versatility for an extended scope of treatments.
Carestream Dental CEO Lisa Ashby added, “Glidewell’s commitment to innovation and customer service help us deliver on our mission of transforming dentistry, simplifying technology, and changing lives.”
To deliver more options to dentists on their digital journey, Glidewell will be distributing intraoral sensors, wall-mounted and handheld generators, and imaging software from Carestream Dental. As part of the distribution agreement, the companies will work to co-develop educational initiatives and training programmes, ensuring customers are able maximise the usage and value of their CBCT technology.
