Henry Schein names new members to executive management committee

Henry Schein has announced the appointment of three new members to the company’s executive management committee — Steve Boggan and Bianka Wilson, who were recently named co-CEOs of the company’s Global Oral Reconstruction Group (GORG), and Tom Popeck, CEO of the company’s Healthcare Specialties Group (HSG).

GORG includes the Henry Schein’s portfolio of premium value and value implant lines and a full range of biomaterial products. HSG includes a range of company-owned manufacturing brands in the high-growth endodontic, orthodontic, and orthopaedic markets.

According to Henry Schein, the GORG and HSG businesses are central to advancing the its ‘BOLD+1 strategic plan’, in particular the building of higher-growth and higher-margin specialty products and services offerings that complement its distribution, software, and value-added businesses. Together, the company aims to leverage these businesses to broaden and deepen relationships with customers.

Boggan joined Henry Schein in 2013 with the company’s acquisition of BioHorizons, which he joined as a start-up in 1995 and has led as president and CEO since 1999. As co-CEO of GORG, Boggan will lead commercial operations in North and South America and the Middle East as well as global marketing.

Wilson joined Henry Schein in 2018 after a successful 25-year career in finance and consulting. Prior to Henry Schein, she served as group CFO of Ascom Holding AG, a Swiss public company in the medical communication technology sector and, prior to that, as advisory and global account lead partner at KPMG. Wilson had been serving as CFO of GORG and, as co-CEO, she will lead strategy, finance, and human resources as well as the group’s business in Europe and APAC.

Popeck joined Henry Schein in 2019 with more than 20 years of sales leadership and general management experience, including extensive experience in the medical device sector. Prior to joining Henry Schein, he spent over two decades leading businesses in orthopaedics and industrial manufacturing, including spending 11 years at Stryker, where he held various leadership roles, including leading Stryker’s Foot & Ankle business unit as vice-president and general manager. In 2023, he was promoted to president of Henry Schein’s Healthcare Specialties Group.
