On World Smile Day, Geistlich is highlighting its Patient Support Program. The initiative enables six patients from Brazil, India, France and Uruguay to receive regenerative dental treatment that had previously been out of reach for financial reasons.

A smile is often associated with confidence, connection and wellbeing. Missing teeth or damaged tissue can affect chewing function, oral stability and self-confidence. However, the costs of bone regeneration, implants and dental restorations can present a barrier to treatment for some patients.

The Geistlich Patient Support Program was established to support patients who may not otherwise have access to appropriate regenerative dental treatment. Marking its 175th anniversary, Geistlich is supporting selected patients by providing access to treatment and related care.

Patients from four countries receive support

Following a clinical review, an expert commission selected six patient cases from Brazil, France, India and Uruguay. Geistlich is covering the cost of the required Geistlich biomaterials and contributing towards implant and crown expenses.

“With the Patient Support Program, we not only support tissue regeneration. We also give patients back a piece of quality of life and self-confidence,” said Friedrich Buck, global director training & education at Geistlich.

The programme is being implemented in collaboration with the treating dentists, who are responsible for the clinical management of the selected cases and the delivery of patient care.

The Patient Support Program reflects Geistlich’s ongoing efforts to support patient health and quality of life through regenerative dental treatments. The company also invests in a range of initiatives and donations aimed at supporting access to care.
