Sagemax launches NexxZr + Multi 2.0 zirconia disc

Sagemax has announced the launch of its NexxZr + Multi 2.0 high translucent dental zirconia disc. As the successor to the highly aesthetic NexxZr + Multi, the improved formulation in the NexxZr + Multi 2.0 aims to provide users with more options in terms of aesthetics, colour, and thickness choices.

Founded in 2006, Sagemax is provider of aesthetic zirconia products for dental CAD/CAM systems. Based in Federal Way, Washington, US, the Sagemax development team has over 15 years of experience in preparing and processing zirconia powders to provide unique manufacturing and colouring processes.

The disc is crafted from a dental multilayer zirconium oxide, 5Y-TZP incisal and 4Y-TZP cervical. It offers a natural colour gradient for the efficient fabrication of natural looking restorations with translucencies of 49% in the incisal region and 45% in the cervical region. The disc also features high flexural strength of 650MPa in the incisal region and 850MPa in the cervical region for single-unit restorations of up to three-unit bridges.

Together, these two properties of the disc are said to enable the fabrication of highly aesthetic, monolithic single-tooth and bridge restorations in the anterior and posterior region. The specially adjusted translucency gradient ensures good coverage in the cervical area and increased translucency in the incisal area. The integrated colour gradient also ensures the efficient fabrication of natural-looking restorations.

The NexxZr + Multi 2.0 disc comes in 14mm, 16mm and 20mm thickness varieties, and is available in 16 A-D shades and four bleach colours. Its processing techniques include the infiltration technique, staining technique, and cut-back technique.
