Seoul, Korea – Syrian Dentist Mohammad Imad al-Droubi was awarded the Gold Prize of the Seoul International Intervention Fair (SIIF) 2015 in Seoul, Korea, for his invention “Droubi Implant System”, with Russia bagging the Silver medal and Switzerland the Bronze.
The fair was organised by the Korean Union for Supporting Inventions in cooperation with the UN World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) and International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA).
Al-Droubi said that he invented an overall dental implant system called MAS. The system is based on implanting teeth without surgery based on an integrated system including an “implanting motor”, which works for two hours without electricity.
Some 400 inventors from 34 countries across the world took part in the fair, which ran from November 26 to 29.
Al-Droubi also won the Award for Best International Invention Presented by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) for the excellent invention presented by the head of delegations of a number of countries participating in the fair including Germany, Thailand and Taiwan. – H. Zain/Barry
