Chicago, Illinois, USA – The American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) has installed five new board members. The members were sworn in during the ACP’s 45th Annual Session held in Orlando, Florida, USA from October 21 to 24, 2015.
Steven M. Morgano, DMD, FACP, was installed as the regional membership director for Northeastern region 1; John D. Ball, DDS, FACP, was installed as the regional membership director of Central region 3; William Wilson, Jr. DDS, MS, FACP, was installed as regional membership director of the Federal Services region 6; Kenneth S. Kurtz, DDS, FACP, was installed as the Council for the American Board of Prosthodontics (ABP) (Maxillofacial); and Michelle Howard Rynn, DMD, FACP, was installed as the Council for the ABP (Dental Educator).
Dr. Steven M. Morgano has been a member of the American College of Prosthodontists since he graduated from his post-doctoral prosthodontic programme in 1979. From 2006 to 2008, he served as president of the Massachusetts section of the ACP, and from 2008 to 2011, he served as the alternate regional director of the Northeast Region of the ACP.
Dr. John D. Ball is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Restorative Clinical Sciences at theUniversityofMissouri, Kansas City School of Dentistry; Removable Prosthodontics Section Head; and course director for both the Advanced Prosthodontics course and the Complete Removable Prosthodontics lecture and laboratory.
Dr. William O. Wilson, Jr. is a Commander in the US Navy Dental Corps and is currently serving as Department Chairman and Programme Director for the Maxillofacial Prosthetics Fellowship at the Naval Post-Graduate Dental School in Bethesda, MD and consultant to the Navy Surgeon General as the Navy Specialty Leader for Maxillofacial Prosthetics and Dental Implants.
Dr. Kenneth S. Kurtz is a Clinical Professor and Director of the Division of Maxillofacial Prosthetics at Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine, Director, Maxillofacial Prosthetics Section, Graduate Prosthodontics, NY Hospital Queens, and Director of Prosthodontic Research at the Graduate Prosthodontic programme at Montefiore Medical Centre/AECOM. Dr. Kurtz is also a member of the ACP Spokespersons Network.
Dr. Michelle Howard Rynn received her DMD degree at the University of Pittsburgh. Immediately following dental school, she began a prosthodontic residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Rynn has been a member of the ACP for almost five years. In 2014, a year after completing her residency, she successfully challenged the American Board of Prosthodontics and became a Fellow of the ACP. Within the ACP, she is a member of the Pre-Doctoral Educators Committee.
